KG Finally Gets His Championship

Kevin Garnett, otherwise known as the "Big Ticket," finally got his NBA championship ring. I enjoy his character. I think the guy is one of the best all-around players in the league. He is also an intense player that puts his team first. For these reasons and more, I am glad that he can call himself "champ"...as he does a few times in the ESPN interview below.

Do What You Feel: The Number One You Tube Video Ever

This is the most watched video on You tube (with more than 88M views). It is and admittedly clever, and thankfully, a clean video that highlights the positive impact video sharing sites can have on humankind.

The Gauntlet: With Growth Comes Confusion

I think the above video shows why many people simply assume that when someone reads or hears the word Mormon, they assume it is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints based in Utah. With such unprecedented growth, one can only assume that there will be misconceptions the world over. Do you agree?

P.S. A stake is a normally a group of about 5-9 congregations numbering around 150-300 people each.

The Gauntlet: In Recent News, Polygamy

I thought this film would highlight some of what is going on in the media surrounding the LDS Church and Polygamy in the media.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, polygamy is a polarizing issue for me. I understand the history of polygamy in my church, yet, almost every time I tell someone what church I belong to the question: "So you have a lot of wives, right?" comes up soon after...despite the discontinuance of the practice over a century ago. Personally, I find it unfortunate that adequate clarification of my beliefs is not available to the world at large. Nevertheless, I want to go on record and say that I do not believe in polygamy. It is a practice that, even church literature is condemned as immoral. I would love to hear your thoughts.

An Explanation

This blog will be an online snapshot of my life. Periodic posts will provide a forum for discussion surrounding the issues of my life and in the world at large. Though my goal is to post weekly, it may happen more or less than that.

At inception the posts will consist of three different types:

1) Life Events: A semi-significant life event occurs for Seb D. or his family.

2) The Gauntlet: This type of post represents a controversial issue. Normally, I will give my viewpoint and ask for yours.

3) Do what you feel: This is any other post that does not fit into the above listed categories.
